Whole Foods Market is recalling bulk cookie items as they contain almonds and pecans that were not mentioned as ingredients on the labeling, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The products being recalled were sold loose as cookies-by-the-pound, a self-service section in the bakery aisle of the store.

The recalled products include Wedding Cookies that contain pecans, Almondine Wedding Cookies containing almonds. These products were distributed in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee between 22 October 2012 and 15 November 2012.

There has been one reported illness in Georgia, associated with the consumption of these recalled products.

Consumers intolerant to almonds or pecans are advised not to consume the above recalled products as it may result in serious or life threatening reaction.
